Trócaire Global Gifts 2010

For more information or to order a Global Gift online – www.trocaire.org/globalgift

This year’s Trócaire Global Gifts include solar lights for Ugandan families (€15); olive trees for Palestinian farmers (€25); cooking stoves for Malawian women (€35); pigs for families in the Democratic Republic of Congo (€45); care for women and children in Pakistan (€65); a year’s education for children in Somalia (€80); beehives for Ethiopian families (€100); water for families around the world (€150) and houses for families in Honduras (€200).

In northern Uganda, families are forced to use smoky and dangerous kerosene lamps at night-time that cause house fires and health problems. Solar lights are healthier, safer and cheaper alternative for families that also allow children to study after dark.

How it Works

Through your generosity, we can help people in the developing world to help themselves – to grow food, to earn an income, to get an education, to access healthcare and to protect their human rights.

Each Global Gift consists of a decorative certificate enclosed in a card, showing how the selected gift will be used. The person who buys the gift can send this card to a friend, family member or client as a gift to them. The recipient of the card can read about how their gift will benefit a family overseas.
