Synod on the Vocation and Mission of the Family in the Church and Contemporary World
4th – 25th October 2015
In January 2014 the people of the diocese generously responded to an invitation from Bishop Denis to help gather information in preparation for the Synod on the Family called by Pope Francis. The first part of the Synod took place in Rome in October 2014. Following that meeting a document summarising the work of the Synod, called the ‘Relatio Synodi,’ was published. A series of 46 questions was also devised and added to the document. . It might be helpful to read this document before responding to the questions. (see downloads)
Bishop Denis is now inviting the people of the diocese to participate in another round of consultation in preparation for the second and final part of the Synod which will take place in Rome in October 2015. Once again parish groups and individuals are being asked to respond to questions which will help shape the next part of the work of the Synod. These responses will hopefully help those attending the Synod to find ways that the Church can better listen, look to Christ and then act to support marriage and family life.
Closing Date Now Extended until Wed March 18th
An opportunity for parishioners across the diocese to gather with Bishop Denis and reflect ahead of the synod together.
