Brenda lives in Newbridge and she has been involved in Communications groups in the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin for the past eight years. She works as Communications Officer with the Catholic Communications Office, the communications and media office of the Irish Bishops’ Conference, in Maynooth.
Brenda is a member of the Parish Council in Newbridge and she is also involved in working with the Catholic Grandparents Association as well as other different groups.
She has been a Scout Leader in Newbridge since 2008, and she is part of the Scouting Ireland Volunteer Communications team.
Brenda has also been runing a national cancer website (www.mymyeloma.ie) and a cancer support group in Newbridge, since she was diagnosed with an incurable form of bone marrow cancer in 2007.
She is a member and co-ordinator of a creative writing group which meets once a month in Newbridge Library.
Speaking about the show, Brenda said:
“My hope for the show is that it will be a mixture of human interest faith stories, reflections as well as religious news and current affairs. It will also delve into many different matters of faith with people of different ages and religious backgrounds. It’s an exciting challenge and one that I am very much looking forward to. Music will also be a big feature of the show and I am looking forward to discovering new sounds and music that maybe I have not come across before.
“Radio is a terrific medium for conversation and I am really looking forward to striking up all sorts of faith chats with all sorts of people!”
