Newbridge Parish – 27 February – 30 April

[display_podcast] Religion Matters, Kfm

This year the Newbridge Novena will begin on the on Monday 27th February, the first week of Lent, and will include the Five Monday Evenings of Lent.   On the Monday of Holy Week, the Novena will include a Penance Service in preparation for the celebration of The Triduum and Easter.  There will be no Novena on Easter Monday.  The Novena will continue on Monday 16th April, and will conclude on Monday 30th April.  That final evening will be hosted by our Parish Youth Group and we very much encourage young people to come along on that particular evening, especially young people who will be sitting examinations this year.  The International Eucharistic Congress takes place in Dublin later this year, with this in mind the theme for the Novena is taken from the prayer of St.Teresa of Avila, “Christ has no body now but yours”.  We hope the theme will give an opportunity to address the living of Eucharist in our daily lives.

Our celebration will commence on each of the Monday evenings at 7:30 PM in Saint Conleth’s Church.  We very much welcome your petitions that will be prayed for throughout the Novena, a special box will be provided in the church for petitions.  We are thankful to the following who have agreed to share their reflections.
