After more than two decades in the job, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Michel Sabbah has retired. His successor is Bishop Fouad Twal. Hear Bishop Twal reflecting on the task ahead of him.

The Patriarch of the Latin Church in the Holy Land, Michel Sabbah, celebrated his last Mass on 21st June as Patriarch after 20 years as the leader and “voice” of the Catholic Church in Jerusalem.

His successor is Bishop Fouad Twal, 67, a Palestinian born in Jordan who is a veteran of the Vatican diplomatic corps.
