20th Meitheal Achievements night
Kildare and Leighlin held there 20th Meitheal Achievements night in St Leos College Carlow.
Over 500 people attended this special award ceremony . Rt. Rev. Mgr. Brendan Byrne delivered the opening address and welcomed everyone.
Meitheal volunteer leader John Balfe was the M.C. for the evening.
A number of inputs were given on the night .
Two meitheal students spoke of the experience of a meitheal team and the actions the undertook during the year.
Kathleen Elliott spoke of her involvement as an Meitheal contact teacher in St Marys college Naas.
Ed Coleman shared his story. He spoke about his time as a Meitheal student and going on to be a Meitheal Leader in the diocese for the last ten years.
The highlight and the most important part of the evening was the distribution of certificates. 200 students received their certificate of participation on the Meitheal Programme. The certificates were handed out by the Leaders who worked with them last summer on their training course.
The slide show at the end reminded them of the fantastic time they had on their training course last June. Many thanks to all involved in programme this year. A special thanks to St Leos College again for hosting the event and providing wonderful hospitality.
