Congratulations to Fr. Denis Doyle who is celebrating his Diamond Jubilee, the sixtieth anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. Fr Denis was ordained on 22nd June 1952 with his first appointment being to Tinryland, moving to Bagnalstown in 1958, serving as Spiritual Director in Carlow College from 1968 to 1973, from there he went to Mountrath and returned to Tinryland as PP in 1980 and in 1989 was appointed as Chaplain to Naas General Hospital.
Friends and parishioners joined Fr. Denis to celebrate a mass of thanksgiving in Ballycane Church Naas on Sunday 24th June at 11 am mass.
Fr. Denis is retired now and lives in Craddock House where he celebrates mass every day for the residents. During the Jubilee mass Fr. John Brickley presented Denis with a large missal which he can use during his daily mass
We wish Fr. Denis many more happy and healthy years of retirement and thank him for the kind and gentle service that he has shared with so many over the past sixty years. Ad multus annus!
