Festival of Light and Hope

As part of the Year of Faith, Naas Parish Pastoral Council are organising three evenings of celebration around our faith. These will take place during the 7.30pm mass in the Church of the Irish Martyrs’, Ballycane, Naas, on Thursday, 31st January; Friday, 1st February and Saturday, 2nd of February.

We have invited guest speakers to share during Mass on the following topics:

Thursday 31st Jan; “Faith – Why Bother?” Fr. Eugene Curran (All Hallows College)

Friday 1st Feb; “Faith in the Family” Breda O’Brien (Irish Times Columnist)

Saturday 2nd Feb; “Healing our Hearts” Fr. Liam Lawton (Singer & Author)
We hope that these three days will help us on our journey of faith, no matter what stage we are at on that journey. The Festival is organised around the Feast Days of St. Brigid, the Presentation of the Lord (Candlemas) and St. Blaise. These are Feasts of light and hope!

The three celebrations are designed for all of us who are on the faith journey, whether we are strong in faith or struggling with faith. It might be of particular interest to parents trying to hand on the gift of faith to their families and those parents who have children for sacraments this year. Please note that everyone is welcome, so tell your friends and neighbours to come along! Simple refreshments will be served after each Mass each evening.
