Come to Kildare town, in this the year of The Gathering and celebrate Brigid and the first stirrings of Spring.
Sunday, January 27th
1.00 p.m. Kildare – Brigid’s Monastic City
Assemble in the Market Square at St. Brigid’s Flame for a guided walk, revisiting the ancient monastic sites of Kildare.
2.30 – 4.00 p.m. Weaving St. Brigid’s Crosses
A sharing of customs and traditions of Brigid.
Workshop: Facilitated by Solas Bhride Team

Tuesday, January 29th
4.00 p.m Sli Bhride – Brigid’s Way
Launch of a new Pilgrimage walk from St. Brigid’s Shrine in Faughart, Co. Louth to St. Brigid’s Monastic City, Kildare town.
Venue: Heritage Centre, Kildare Town
8.00 p.m. Annual Celtic Lecture
“Patrick, Brigid, Columcille – an inspiration for our time”.
Lecture by folklorist Padraigin Clancy, graduate in Irish Folklore and History from National University of Ireland. Padraign conducts workshops on Celtic Christian Spirituality.

A pilgrimage of quiet reflection, song and prayer on the eve of springtime. If you wish bring a light/lantern

Friday, February 1st – La Fheile Bride – St. Brigid’s Day
1.00 p.m. A Walk on the Curragh Plains
A glimpse into the living life on Brigid’s pastures!
Assemble: 12.45 in the Market Square
Cost €10.00 includes ticket for bus.
