The Delany Archive cares for the archival collections of the Diocese of Kildare & Leighlin, Brigidine Sisters, Patrician Brothers and Carlow College.

We have put a selection of our photographs online for your enjoyment at

A wide range of images is included: Bishops and priests of the diocese; members of the Brigidine and Patrician congregations; students of Knockbeg College, Carlow College and Brigidine and Patrician schools; views of buildings including churches, convents and monasteries; and photographs taken at various events. The Brigidines and Patricians spread their wings beyond Ireland and the photographs include some taken in Australia, India and the USA. It is planned to include more images, including some of documents from our collections.

Also available are photographs which belonged to Bill Clinton, a native of Crettyard, Co. Laois, who worked as a houseboy at Carlow College during the 1920s. Many of these photographs were taken at Carlow College or include his family or friends.

We have only minimal information about some of our photographs and would welcome further detail including identification of people, places and dates. You can comment on our photographs through the Flickr site or contact us via email at [email protected]

We would also like to expand our photograph collections. If you have any photographs that would complement our collections we would be delighted to hear from you. We are happy to copy photographs and return originals.
