Kildare Parish is gearing up for the arrival of one of the world’s spiritual leaders on 13th April.
The Dalai Lama, the spirtual and political leader of the Tibetan people, will visit The Square, St. Brigids Cathedral ending with an address at St. Brigids Parish Church.
Hundreds of people are expected to turn out to witness the Dalai Lama’s arrive in Kildare town at around half one this afternoon.
His Holiness will spend 10 to 15 mins on a stage at the Market Square where he will received the offical welcome of Kildare’s Mayor and the Kildare County Manager, along with greetings from the Brigidine Sisters where he will be presented with the St. Brigid’s Flame.
Children from the town are to sing a song of welcome before the Dalai Lama addresses the gathered crowds.
From there, he will walk to St Brigid’s Cathedral and spend some moments there in private reflection
That will be followed by an address at the town’s parish church.
