Following last weeks Youth Ministry Training Day a short report from the day and photo gallery.
Twenty four young people gathered last Saturday in the Cathedral parish centre for a full day exploring the ministries of the Reader and Minister of Holy Communion. They came from parishes across the diocese, including Abbeyleix, Askea, Bennekerry, The Cathedral, Clonmore, Raheen, Rathvilly & Tinryland. The day was led by members of the Diocesan Faith Development Team and the Youth Ministry Team. It turned out to be a great day with plenty of time for exploration, chat and working together. Participants were presented with a certificate at the end of the day. It is hoped to repeat this day in the Autumn.
Here’s some of what the participants themselves said about the day:
“I really enjoyed learning more about the Mass and about becoming a minister of Holy Communion.”
“I felt the leaders were really friendly and welcoming and they taught me a lot.”
“Thank you for giving me this opportunity and enjoyable experience.”
“I really enjoyed this course. It was worth while.”
“I wasn’t sure at first about coming – would it be nerve racking and serious but I really enjoyed it.”
“The leaders were excellent in getting us involved as a group.”
“I feel very competent and confident to fulfil this ministry after the training today.”
