Inaugral Awards
28th January, Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow at 7.30pm

The Pope John Paul II Award started in the diocese just over a year ago and to participate in the award young people volunteered to get actively involved in their local Church and community.
Over 100 young people signed up to work in parishes, local clubs, charity shops, residential homes, fundraising projects and much more and the award ceremony will be an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate their great achievements.
Representatives from parishes, schools, charities and various organisations throughout Kildare and Leighlin will join the 100 awardees and their families to celebrate the great contribution these young people have and continue to make in their local community and Church.
GAA All-Star Kieran Mc Geeney, current Kildare Manager, will present the young people with their awards. There will be a presentation on the night featuring the work the young people have been involved in and two awardees will be interviewed about their experience of taking part in this new initiative.
Entertainment for the evening will be courtesy of ‘CHILL’ the up and coming Barbershop Quartet from Ennis. (see video below)
