Exploring Religious Education

With great change comes great challenge and today one of the major challenges facing European citizens is living in an intercultural and inter-religious society.

Dr. Patricia Kieran is co-editor of ‘Exploring Religious Education’: Catholic Religious Education in an Intercultural Europe“.  A book which explores how Catholic RE has developed a discourse of inclusion and respect for otherness, while simultaneously recognising the challenges and identity of the Catholic faith tradition.

Patricia begins her book with a quote from the French author and former politician, André Malraux.  He suggests that the 21st Century would be the century of religion. Liam Ó Cathasaigh began by asking if and why she believed this to be the case.
