The season of Advent is fast approaching and hopefully, in these busy days you will be able to make space to prepare to welcome the Christ Child among us.
Our Advent & Christmas Resources are designed to help our primary teachers celebrate this wonderful season with their students. A hard copy of these resources has been sent to all our schools and further copies are available from the office.
If schools from outside the diocese are interested in a hard copy a limited number are available at a cost of �2.50 +p&p

Advent Season
The season of Advent helps us prepare each year for the coming of the Christ-child. There are many ways in which we can help both ourselves and the children focus on the real meaning of what we are about to celebrate and thus direct some of our attention away from the hustle and bustle that so often accompanies this time of year. The lighting of the candles on the Advent Wreath each day is a very visible sign of our movement through this season. Place a crib in your sacred space around December 8. You might like to allow the figures for your crib travel around the classroom to remind the children of the journey of Mary and Joseph towards Bethlehem.
The Jesse Tree is explained in this year�s Resource Book as an alternative way to mark the journey through Advent with the Senior classes.
Invite your chaplain to visit during the weeks of Advent. S/he could bless your Advent Wreath, Jesse Tree and crib using the some of the prayers in the Advent Resource Book.
