Jesus Youth presents a series of inspring concerts by Rexband, a contemporary Christian band from India. The tour will cover the cities of Liecester, London, Manchster, Dublin, Cork and Castlebar. With its vibrant, eclectic music and dynamic message, the band endeavours to celebrate the presence of the King of Kings.
The two and a half hour Rexband live shows are designed to integrate different styles of music, dances, skits and sharings. Most of the songs are set to choreographed movements, making them a layered, richer experience. The musical styles truly reflect the eclectic, international styles of today ranging from ethnic Indian music to hymns, slow rock, hip hop and various combinations of contemporary popular music.

The Band
In the late 80s and the early 90s, a group of young musicians in India experienced a life-changing encounter with Jesus through a vibrant catholic youth movement- The Jesus Youth. This prompted many of them to as God how they could use their talent in music and theatre for a larger purpose. Today this musical outreach has grown into a worldwide ministry with over 35 artists with a distinctive talent in music and theatre.
Across the past decade, Rexband has performed in over 600 venues around the world including the Middle Eastern countries, South East Asia, several cities in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK and Germany. Regularly invited to the World Youth Day celebrations, the band has already performed at the World youth day celebrations at Toronto, Cologne and Sydney.
The Ministry
Rooted in a Catholic spirituality, the band is comfortable in reaching out to contemporary society through the medium of music. The band believes that music becomes relevant only when the quality and message brings about a change in the world around. Which is why beside its concerts, the band spends considerable time in animating trainings for programmes, conducting skill development programmes for budding talents and ministering at youth encounter programmes. The 10 diverse musical albums of the band are also a reflection of this larger vision.
Jesus Youth
Jesus Youth is an international Catholic movement with a charismatic spirituality. It had its beginnings in India and is presently active in over 20 countries of the world. It is an initiative of young people filled with the Holy Spirit, who try to reach out to other young people. The strength of the movement is its special focus on a Jesus centered life, beginning with an experience of God, nourished by prayer, the Word of God, the sacraments and fellowship, and the sharing of the Good News with others. Though not an actual community, Jesus Youth is a network of small but vibrant fellowship groups of young people. In their own life situations, they strive to set apart time for the Lord, responding to the challenges of today’s world in the power of the Holy Spirit.
